About PayClarify

Independent payment processor comparisons for small business owners — verified fees, no sponsored rankings.

PayClarify is an independent comparison site. We are not a payment processor and do not accept payment for rankings. PayClarify is funded by display advertising and affiliate commissions: if you sign up for Helcim through one of our links, we may earn a commission. How we keep that from deciding our recommendations is explained in the affiliate disclosure below. Fee data is taken from official processor pricing pages. See our comparison methodology →

Why We Built PayClarify

Small businesses in the US collectively pay billions of dollars per year in unnecessary payment processing fees. Most owners have no idea what an effective rate is, don't know how to read their processing statement, and have never compared their processor's rates against alternatives.

PayClarify was built to fix that. We provide verified, up-to-date fee comparisons, honest processor reviews, and a free fee calculator so any small business owner can see in seconds whether they're overpaying — and what they could switch to.

Who We Are

PayClarify is built and maintained by Fisnik Rexhepi, a software developer and the founder of Veridia Digital, a web and automation agency based in Großhansdorf near Hamburg, Germany, that works with small businesses in Germany and the US.

How we research: PayClarify comparisons are based on research of each provider's publicly available pricing and terms, with links to the official sources. Unless an article explicitly says otherwise, we have not run hands-on tests of the processors we compare, and we do not present research as personal testing.

PayClarify was launched in 2026 as an independent resource to help small business owners understand, compare, and reduce their payment processing costs — without having to wade through sales pitches from processors themselves.

What We Cover

  • Payment processor reviews — honest, in-depth reviews of Stripe, Square, PayPal, Helcim, Clover, Toast, and more
  • Side-by-side comparisons — fees, features, contracts, and hardware compared head-to-head
  • Free fee calculator — enter your monthly volume and see exactly what each processor costs
  • Educational guides — how credit card processing works, what interchange-plus pricing is, how to reduce your fees
  • Industry-specific guides — best processors for retail, restaurants, freelancers, ecommerce, nonprofits, and more

Our Editorial Standards

Every comparison, review, and guide on PayClarify follows these principles:

  • Verified fee data — all rates sourced directly from official processor pricing pages, with links provided
  • Regular updates — fee tables and articles updated when processors change their pricing
  • No paid placements — processor rankings are based on value to the user, not advertising spend
  • Transparent affiliate disclosure — some links are affiliate links (disclosed at the top of relevant articles); this does not influence our rankings or recommendations
  • Clear methodology — we explain how we compare fees and what factors we consider

Affiliate Disclosure

Some articles on PayClarify contain affiliate links. If you sign up for a payment processor through one of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We are a member of the AWIN affiliate network (Publisher ID: 2890033). Our affiliate relationships do not influence our reviews, rankings, or recommendations — we recommend processors based on their value to small businesses, not on commission rates. Helcim is currently the processor we have an affiliate relationship with (via AWIN). We recommend it for many businesses processing over roughly $10,000/month because of its interchange-plus pricing, and we show the calculations and assumptions behind that recommendation. For other situations we recommend processors that pay us nothing, such as Square, Stripe or PayPal, and we say when Helcim is not a good fit.

📊 Fee Data Accuracy

All fee data on PayClarify is sourced from publicly available information on processor websites and verified as of July 2026. Payment processor fees change periodically — always verify current rates directly with the processor before making a business decision. We update our data regularly but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy. Links to official processor pricing pages are provided throughout our articles and on our comparison page.
